Mama's Fish House

I ate probably the most amazing and tasteful chocolate mousse that I've ever seen in person. The presentation of the mousse in the pastry seashell seemed to have a chorus of angels singing in unison. I almost felt like this was a precious jewell from the bottom of the ocean. The mousse was extremely smooth as though it were butter. Not overly chocolatey, but the perfect amount and consistency. Service at the bar was also impeccable. My virgin mojito tasted great and the atmosphere of the whole restaurant is great. You're at the beach without a care in the world. I was recommended to come here for dessert but had I known it's reputation, I would have come here for dinner as well. You definitely can't miss coming to Mama's on your next visit to Maui.

Probably the best seafood on Maui and that is saying something. Amazing beach front location. The fish is all really fresh and caught locally and the menu tells you the name of the fisherman who caught it. The service was top notch as well and everyone was really friendly and attentive. It's a bit on the pricier side but the service, freshness and high quality food make it well worth the money.

To be honest, I think the place may be a bit overrated, especially due to all the tourists hyped up on the beauty of the island.Food is great, but not amazing - quite pricey for what it is.Drinks were tasty, did enjoy it, but again, quite pricey for what is is.Now, the service, the view, and the ambience is incredible. With a private beach in front, it was a beautiful dining experience.Service was top notch, except for the front staff before you walk down to the restaurant. We were confused when we arrived and was ignored by her, so we just followed others and walked down to the restaurant.If you don't mind the high price tag and average food but amazing view, it'll be worth it.Edit: Dropping a star from my original review as I've realized there's other places on Maui with even a better view with great food at cheaper prices.

Today's visit was absolutely in the top 5 for this restaurant. I have visited many times over the years and the past couple of years have called into question whether loyalty to what is considered a mainstay on this island was worth the price. They have definitely stepped up their game and are back where they should be! The service was impeccable The food on point and the ambience as always spectacular. But for the first time in many visits the food and the service met the location as apposed to being carried by it. Way to go I will return again !!!

It is a very nice restaurant that can be very busy. I was actually very impressed by this place. When you first arrive, there is valet parking, then a nice walk to the restaurant with a beautiful view. Once inside you can see the beautiful woodwork and architecture. The food was amazing but be prepared for the bill. If you have the money it is worth doing at least once.

WOW. Amazing location, food and service! The mahi rolls were fantastic. My boyfriend and I both had cocktails and they were delicious. We each loved our meal, and even though we were stuffed we couldn't pass up trying their dessert. The chocolate mousse tasted amazing and looked even better. The seashell pastry was so impressive! All of this was eaten with a great view of the ocean! Our server explained the whole menu, was very patient and helpful in making recommendations. I would eat here every day of our vacation if I could afford it 😂 Definitely worth going at least once even if you think it's expensive.

I tried to make a reservation before my trip to Hawaii but everything was booked weeks in advance. I was a bit bummed I wouldn’t get to eat here. Luckily I was in the area and stopped by to see if I could have some drinks at the bar area and some seats opened up. I usually prefer sitting at the bar so that was perfect! The food and drinks were delicious. The restaurant has the perfect view of the beach. I definitely recommend coming around happy hour time to watch the sunset.

Absolutely the best meal of my life. We came on our honeymoon and we’re greeted with a sweet note and, in my opinion, the best seat in the house. The cocktails were fantastic - my husband does not drink cocktails and even he was speechless. The fish was so fresh and flavorful. I’ll dream about the black pearl dessert for the rest of my life. Heavenly. It’s not a cheap meal, but it is 100% worth the money. I can’t wait to go back.

Go here! Food and service are both exceptional. We were seated at a table facing the ocean. They have created a scenic beach garden and watching the waves through the palms is so relaxing. Our waiter Devan took time to help us understand the options and answered all of our questions. He timed the delivery of appetizers and our meals perfectly. We never felt rushed. The rest of the staff was also very attentive we've been treated very well nearly everywhere on Maui, but this was a different level. Niko delivered drinks with friendly good humour. The Maui beef appetizer was great, but we also had an amberjack cheek appetizer that was even better. Both meals were top quality and all the drinks were fantastic. This is the most expensive place we have been on Maui, but it was worth the price. We couldn't get dinner reservations because they are booked for the next 4 weeks so we went for lunch. You have to get a reservation even for lunch.
